Behind the camera

Meet Yaacov

Photo and film

You're getting married, and underneath all the planning is the one thing that actually matters — you want to watch this back one day and feel exactly what the room felt like. Yaacov King Studio covers both the photographs and the film, from the quiet of getting ready in the morning to the last song on the floor that night.

Where to stand

I've spent years working the bigger halls, so I know how the day moves: when the bedeken is about to run late, where to stand under the chuppah, how to keep things calm while it's happening.

Early days

I've had a camera in my hands since I was twelve. At thirteen I was photographing my friends' bar mitzvahs, and from there I went on to photograph and film for several camps, Camp Simcha among them. Weddings came next, and they've been the work ever since.

These days

Home is New Jersey, with my wife Ethel, our baby Shalom and our dog Molly.

I've been the groom, so I know how much goes into getting there, and how quickly the day itself goes by. You can plan for months. The day still finds its own shape, and that's usually the part you'll come back to.

Get in touch

Tell me about your wedding

The date, the hall, whatever you have in mind. If the date's open, I'll take it from there.

I'll write back myself, usually within a day. If your date's open, we'll set up a short call, and a signed contract holds the date.
